From a client ...
... My memoir about my strange childhood home has been accepted for publication. With the addition of some historical material, the book is essentially the same as when I worked with you on it. Thank you so much for all your help. You were very instrumental in my getting this published.

Memoir Checkup and Review
Our experience shows that many writers don't understand how to write their personal stories or memoir. Often, they try to write too much or include too many unimportant details. Or they get stuck and aren't sure how to proceed. Our memoir checkup is the ideal solution.

  • scope
  • theme
  • setting
  • character development
  • voice/voice

  • veracity of facts
  • word usage
  • style
  • proportion

  • tone/voice
  • your specific concerns about your writing

In our e-mail report, we discuss the critical opening and closing scenes and overall message. We suggest how to improve common writing weaknesses such as overwriting, unclear writing, and passive writing. We point out repeated words, stilted language, and overuse of adverbs and adjectives.
